The Better Regulation Advanced course, part of the third term in Rome of the European Master in Law and Economics – EMLE, organized a series of current regulatory challenges seminar.
Following the seminar on “Regulating online hate speech: how to address the monitoring challenge with the Impact assessment” held by Maria Luce Mariniello (AGCOM) and Hamsini Shankar (former EMLE student and AGCOM intern), the next event will focus on “Risk Assessment and machine learning in enforcement controls”.
Indeed, on Wednesday 9th June, from 11:00 to 13:00, Florentin Blanc (OECD Senior Policy Analyst) and Margarita Escobar (OECD consultant and former EMLE Student) will present their knowledge on the topic.
The Speakers will focus on the scope to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of inspections through machine learning systems. The need is to reach better inspections, with less overlapping and duplications of controls between competent Authorities and to increase businesses’ competitiveness, economic growth and investments.
Moreover, such targets have to be achieved with a risk-based approach to improve compliance and using the OECD Principles and Toolkit as a guide.
The exceptional knowledge of the Speakers in the matter is evidenced, among other things, by their ongoing work on the Rating Audit Control (RAC) Project.
As already mentioned, the lecture will take place on Wednesday 9th June from 11:00 to 13:00.
It will be possible to attend by invitation or request.
