 COME CANDIDARSI

Il corso si può concludere con un tirocinio facoltativo presso un'istituzione coinvolta nella better regulation (ente regolatore, impresa regolata o think tank). Il numero di CFU riconosciuti (da 3 a 6 CFU) è legato al numero di ore di stage svolte. Il tirocinio è riservato agli studenti frequentanti che hanno superato con successo l'esame finale. Gli studenti interessati a svolgere il tirocinio devono inviare una e-mail al prof. Rangone (n.rangone@lumsa.it) e indicare una o due istituzioni o think tank preferiti. Si prega di allegare un CV dettagliato (compresi gli esami superati e i voti) e il periodo proposto. Se la professoressa ritiene che il CV e il profilo dello studente siano adatti all'istituzione o all'associazione proposta, chiederà al responsabile dell'ufficio competente (Alfredo Ferrara) di candidare lo studente. In seguito, il procedimento sarà gestito dal responsabile dello stage.

Si noti che tutti gli studenti idonei avranno la possibilità di svolgere uno stage, ma non avranno il diritto di essere selezionati dall'organizzazione preferita. Nel caso in cui gli studenti non vengano selezionati all'interno dell'organizzazione scelta inizialmente, il tirocinio verrà organizzato presso l'organizzazione selezionata come seconda o terza scelta.  Inoltre, l'istituzione o il think tank potrebbero proporre un periodo di tirocinio diverso da quello inizialmente richiesto dallo studente. Questo potrebbe essere dovuto a problemi organizzativi interni: uno stagista ha bisogno di assistenza e di spazio per lavorare.

Si noti che, a causa della pandemia di Covid-19, il numero di stage garantiti potrebbe essere eccezionalmente limitato. Se le richieste superano il numero di stage disponibili, potranno essere selezionati solo gli studenti con i voti più alti nell'esame finale.

Il tirocinio durerà almeno un mese a tempo pieno. Tuttavia, le istituzioni o i think tank spesso chiedono agli studenti migliori di rimanere più a lungo per acquisire un'adeguata esperienza lavorativa. Questo potrebbe anche consentire di organizzare la tempistica in modo diverso (ad esempio, tre mesi a tempo parziale). Spetta allo studente accettare. 

Infine, ma non meno importante, lo studente selezionato che rifiuta il tirocinio non ha il diritto di candidarsi per un altro tirocinio. Va sottolineato che, se da un lato questo comportamento può essere personalmente giustificato, dall'altro impedisce ad altri studenti di essere selezionati per lo stage e potrebbe compromettere il rapporto con l'istituzione o l'associazione interessata.

HOW TO APPLY

The course ends with an optional internship in an institution involved in better regulation (regulator, regulated firm or think tank). The number of CFU recognised (from 3 to 6 CFU) is related to the number of internship hours carried out.

Internship is reserved for attending students who have successfully passed the final exam.

Students interested in performing an internship must send an e-mail to prof. Rangone and indicate one or two preferred institutions or think tanks. Please attach a detailed CV (including the exams passed and marks) and the proposed period. If the professor feels the CV and the student profile fits well with the suggested institution or association, she will ask the internship administrator (Alfredo Ferrara) to candidate the student. Hereafter, the proceeding will be managed by the internship administrator.

Please take note that all eligible students will have the chance to perform an internship, but there will not have the right to be selected by the preferred organisation. When students are not selected within the organisation they have originally chosen, then the internship will be organised in the organisation selected as a second or third choice.  Moreover, the institution or think tank could suggest a different period for the internship from what the student originally requested. This could be due to internal organisational problems: an intern needs due assistance and space for work.

Please note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic the number of guaranteed internships may be exceptionally limited. If the requests exceed the number of available internships, only students with the highest marks in the final exam may be selected.

The internship will last at least one-month full time. However, institutions or think tanks often ask the best students to stay longer in order to acquire adequate working experience. It could also allow organising the timing differently (e.g. three months part-time). It is up to the student to accept. 

Last but not least,  a student-selected who declines the internship has no right to apply for another internship. It must be underlined that, while this behaviour could be personally justified, it impedes other students to be selected for internships and could compromise the relationship with the interested institution or association.
