Taking Trust in Government Seriously - Repost from The Regulatory Review

Trust in Government is an “incoercible and elusive notion”. However, the lack of trust affects the efficacy of government regulation and regulatory delivery. Therefore, such a phenomenon impacts concretely on further aspects. For this reason, professors De Benedetto, Lupo, and Rangone call attention to the urgency of trust-restoring policies pointing to the cross-cutting challenges that result from distrust. The article warns about the delicacy of the matter - especially during the pandemic - and highlights the importance of addressing it with appropriate tools, strategies, and approaches (Francesco Calisi, Former BeRe student).
