We are pleased to share that Prof. Nicoletta Rangone, Professor of Administrative Law at LUMSA University and Jean Monnet Professor of Better Regulation, has been appointed as expert for the Italian Impact Assessment Scrutiny Board (Nuvir).
In 2023, the NUVIR (instituted by d.P.C.M. October 19 2022, according to the law-decree n. 36/2022 and operational since January 1st 2023), succeeded the Regulatory Impact Assessment Group of the Public Investment Assessment and Verification Unit. The NUVIR is in charge of scrutinising the quality of ex-ante and ex-post impact assessments (IAs) carried out by national administrations, supporting DAGL in defining IA methodologies, and training activities on IA. The NUVIR also evaluates the socio-economic impacts of regulatory proposals, when requested by DAGL. The NUVIR, composed of five experts appointed by D.P.C.M. for four years, reports directly to the Head of the Department for Legislative and Juridical Affairs (DAGL) of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. Its independence and autonomy in judgment is codified by art. 1, par. 2 of the d.P.C.M. October 19, 2022.
